Women in Engineering Sciences - An Elles Bougent event
At the end of 2019, three women engineers from Soletanche Bachy France and Soletanche Bachy International attended the 7th Les Sciences de l'Ingénieur au Féminin (Women in Engineering Sciences) event. Hosted by our partner organisation Elles Bougent, this one-day event gave Marie, Nicole and Marion the opportunity to showcase the jobs they do to nearly 200 secondary school and college students.

A total of 1,500 engineers and technicians representing a broad diversity of construction, manufacturing, transport and IT companies took part in this event right across France.
The ultimate aim of this day for the students who attended the event was to be able to identify with women whose career paths highlight a range of technical and scientific professions sometimes little known to girls.
To gain a more detailed understanding of careers that may be predominantly male today in order to expand their educational and future employment options
The next Elles Bougent events we wish to focus on will involve organising site visits to showcase our career opportunities directly to secondary school students:
- All over the world (except France) in the week beginning 8 March as part of Girls on the Move week
- In France between 31 March and 3 April during Semaine de l’industrie (Industry Week).
