— News — Soletanche Bachy International receives ISO 45001 certification | Occupational health and safety

Almost a year ago by Soletanche Bachy International initiated the process to obtain the ISO 45001 certification. ISO 45001 is the new international standard for occupational health and safety management systems. It replaces the current OHSAS 18001 standard and aims to help companies create and implement proactive prevention systems for workplace accidents and occupational illnesses.

The successful conclusion of the ISO 45001 certification process, initiated by Soletanche Bachy International, followed an audit by Bureau Veritas Certification (BV) completed end of February 2020. For few days, Bureau Veritas audited the Quality, Safety and Environment aspects of Soletanche Bachy International ’s integrated management system. The auditor noted the effectiveness, maturity and suitability of our management system, in which continuous improvement is present in each business process.

This certification is in line with Group Soletanche Bachy’s commitment to develop an integrated Health and Safety culture at all levels of the company, (organization, equipment, processes and techniques).

According to the International Labour Organization, more than 7 600 people die from work-related accidents or diseases every single day. That’s why an ISO committee of occupational health & safety experts set to work to develop an International Standard with the potential to save almost three million lives each year.
