End of 2018, the consortium of Soletanche Bachy and Desertot has been awarded the contract to build a 6,500 m3 stormwater tank located in the north of Bourg-en-Bresse, together with all the necessary inlet and outlet engineered structures.

Additional surveys conducted at the beginning of work on site revealed the presence of soil layers with very poor mechanical properties beneath the structure, precisely where the hydrostatic pressure relief micropiles were to be anchored.

An adaptation of the design of the tank was then proposed. A dome raft foundation now transfers hydrostatic pressure to the diaphragm walls, which operate in traction as far as their base.

The Soletanche Bachy teams built the 80-cm thick diaphragm wall for the storage tank, which will be anchored at 38 metres, the 50-cm thick spill structure, and the civil engineering for the entire structure.
