— News — A first on the One Roof site in Geneva, Switzerland

The “One Roof” building will bring together the six existing sites in Geneva under one roof. It will house all the Lombard Odier group’s activities, including up to 2,600 workstations, on a new site a stone’s throw from the lake, the motorway, a train station and the International Organisations district.

The “enterprise totale” (Swiss term for main contractor) is led by the C3 consortium composed of Construction Perret, Patrice BEZOS (architect) and C2I (developer).

SIF, as part of a consortium with Grisoni-Zaugg, Perrin Frères and ISR Injectobohr, is responsible for:

• 1300m of bored encased piles, 1000mm, 1200mm and 1500mm in diameter, average length 14m,
• 2700m of secant bored encased piles, 880mm in diameter, average length 14m,
• 1000m of bored encased piles (880mm in diameter) for a Parisian-type wall, average length 12m,
• 700m of bored encased piles (620mm in diameter) for a Berlin-type wall, average length 15m,
• 450 anchors, average length 20m,
• 3000m² of sprayed concrete.

 

The geology of the site is complex, with alternating backfill, natural gravels, moraines and a molasse stratum of varying altitude. The piles’ length needs to be adapted according to the level of the molasse roof encountered.

The transmission of significant loads (up to 1100 tonnes/pile) requires a diameter of 1500mm for half of the 150 foundation piles. The creation of 1500mm diameter piles is a first for SIF!
